Missionary Lacy's InformationDaniel Lacy missionary with Motor Car Racing Motorsports Ministries
In racing, the Hard Charger award goes to the driver that gains the most positions during the race. To accomplish this, choices are measured, weighed, carried out quickly and with precision. A driver does not want to anger another driver while passing or they might find themselves crashed in the future. In life, we all make decisions that either help or hinder our success. Moral, ethical and life changing choices are not always popular, but they are foundational. The effect on our lives and those of others will be measured by the choices we make. Therefore, the Hard Charger scholarship is to go to the student pursuing these foundational choices. They exhibit the desire to achieve and succeed, but not at the expense of others or themselves.
Motorsports Ministries is an organization conceived, developed, and operated to provide for the spiritual and emotional needs of the people involved in professional and amateur automobile racing. The ministry strives to bring balance and perspective, providing ministry and encouragement to the whole person. Recognizing that life, like racing, is compromised of multi-dimensional experiences, Motorsports Ministries attempts to encourage individuals to understand the essence of life from a Christian viewpoint. It endeavors to influence the unchurched as well as those with a Christian commitment. Among the services provided to the racing community are non-denominational chapel services held each race weekend. Full time chaplains serve the professional racing series in order to provide counseling, encourage fellowship, and provide pastoral ministries to the participants in the series. All of the programs and services of Motorsports Ministries are targeted to the spiritual enrichment of the individuals who pursue automobile racing as a profession or an avocation. Motorsports Ministries was founded in 1984 by Richard Anderson. The Ministry was founded in response to a desire by participants, in various professional racing series, to increase the fellowship of believers and have their needs for pastoral care met while following a racing circuit for a good part of each year. Reverend Anderson and other chaplains continue to minister to a wide cross section of believers within the racing community since the founding of Motorsports Ministries.
